“ Loved the ramen. The broth was nutty with a hint of sesame taste. Very delicious. The plum was served in a ceramic vase and cup. It was sweet and paired well with the ramen. I'll be back. The server was friendly. I sat at the bar, I liked the atmosphere. It was dark and calm. ”
“ Red dragon is really really spicy! As someone who absolutely loves spicy food, this is still too spicy for me.....worth trying, but next time I would probably get spicy red miso instead. All the appetizers I ordered are tasty, the beer is great too! They let you know how long you will need to wait and take ur name and phone number, so you can come back later when it is your turn. They will text you, if you did not show up in 5min, ur turn will be cancelled. Don't get scared by the time u need to wait, because ppl ahead of may not show up, then u will get the sit quicker than u expect. My updated review after two years, still the best ramen place in Ottawa. Red dragon is tasty. You could not stir the hot sauce to make it over all not that spicy. The service is fast and great. Food is great. Quantity is on point. There is nothing else I could ask for. Updated review in April 2025, unfortunately food has been downgraded. The meat in the noodles is not good, the noodle is under cooked and hard. Only the fried chicken is still good. ”
“ Had the pleasure of dining at Ramen Isshin and had a really good experience. Our waitstaff was pleasant and attentive, our food was prepared pretty quickly, and most importantly, the food was delicious. We ordered the gyozas, spicy miso and red dragon miso and everything was great. The ramen broth was really the main takeaway for me, so rich, and flavourful! I kept drinking it up even after finishing my noodles. Also really appreciated how full the bowls were, my sister had a hard time finishing her bowl because of how plentiful the broth was! My only negative is just on the spice level. My "Spicy Miso" was not at all Spicy, there was pretty much 0 tingling in my tastebuds, and even more dissapointing, my sister rated the Red Dragon as being a 2/10 on spice scale which is...concerning (?) given the spice should have been the main attraction point of this menu. It didn't bother me much cos I didn't want to sweat that day anyway, but if you do prefer your meals spicy, probably just let the staff know you truly can handle the spice so they don't hold back. Anyway, really liked the dishes and I would love to go back for more! ”

“ The tsukemen really hit the spot and it was comparable to our travels to Japan. The roasted garlic shoyu ramen was very good but it wasn’tthe best I have had. Just very happy that Ottawa has a couple of authentic ramen destinations, this one included amongst the top 3 in my opinion. Service was courteous and friendly. Restaurant is kid friendly with appropriate cutlery. The only thing I would critique is the pricing for additional toppings. The meals are quite pricey to start and something as basic as sesame seeds should be included like typical ramen locations. Traditionally, a jar of sesame seeds, chili powder and vinegar are available on the table. For the price of the ramen, these toppings could easily be included and further increase the dine-in experience without feeling nickel and dimed. Overall still a 5 star experience for food taste and service. ”
